33 Weeks!

My plan to keep up with blogging during this pregnancy is not exactly working!  We've been so busy lately...  We're buying a house!  Because being pregnant and having a 2.5 year old wasn't enough, we've added moving into the mix.  We're scheduled to close on the house 3.5 weeks before Cora's due date...I'm starting to get very anxious!

How far along? 33 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: I finally gained - I'm up about 10 lbs. from my starting weight.

Sleep: Now that my heartburn is under control (thanks to a prescription), I've been sleeping pretty well.  Last night I was woken up several times with leg cramps, so I'm hoping that doesn't become a trend.

Best moment this week: Realizing we only have 7 weeks to go!

Movement: Now when she moves, it's usually big movements.  I have feet in my ribs almost all the time!

Symptoms: Exhaustion, Braxton-Hicks contractions a lot

Symptoms I DON'T have: Nausea and an aversion to everything. :)

Food cravings: Still orange juice, but also potatoes and salad.

Food aversions: Anything fried

Nesting: Tons.  The fact that everything is packed into totes and boxes for moving is okay, since I know it's organized, but I want to get everything set up for her.

Gender: Girl!

Labor Signs: Lots of Braxton-Hicks contractions.

Belly Button in or out? In

What I miss: Being able to be active and not be completely exhausted afterward. We took Addie to the Mall of America two weeks ago and I went to bed about 30 minutes after she did when we were there.

What I am looking forward to: Getting this move out of the way & then meeting our baby girl!

Weeks 20-24

We've had a busy, busy summer!
I haven't been the best about updating (obviously), but hopefully I'll get back on track!

How far along? 24 weeks, 3 days

Total weight gain/loss: 0 lbs. - I'm right at my starting weight

Sleep: Once I can get to sleep, I sleep really well.

Best moment this week: Getting to see Cora via ultrasound again. At our first appointment, she was so laid
back and sleepy that she wouldn't let the ultrasound tech get a good view of her heart.  She was the same this week, but they finally got the images they needed!

Movement: Most days she moves quite a bit. It's fun to see her movements from the outside now.

Symptoms: Lots of heartburn

Symptoms I DON'T have: Nausea & complete exhaustion

Food cravings: Orange juice - all the time. It is not helping with my heartburn!

Food aversions: Pizza and fried foods, which isn't the worst thing in the world. :)

Nesting: I got all baby clothes 0-12 months organized. Surprisingly we don't have to buy much, even though she's a winter baby and Addie was a spring baby.

Gender: Girl!

Labor Signs: Braxton-Hicks, more than I remember having with Addie, but that's it.

Belly Button in or out? In

What I miss: I haven't really been missing anything lately

What I am looking forward to: I'm not one to wish summer away normally, but after my next appointment in mid-September, I start going to appointments every other week already. It's going really fast now and; I can't wait until she's here!

Baby #2 is....

A GIRL!!!

Introducing Cora Charlotte

She looks great and we feel so blessed to be expecting another healthy baby girl!
Addie is so excited and will tell anyone and everyone she can about her baby sister. :)

7/19/12

Weeks 17-19

How far along? 19 weeks, 3 days

Total weight gain/loss: Down 3 pounds from my starting weight

Sleep: I've had a really hard time getting to sleep and then staying asleep lately - part of my reason for not posting very much. Addie and I are taking lots of good naps, though!

Best moment this week: Feeling more movement!

Movement: Still nothing regular, but I can definitely tell that it's baby moving now. :)

Symptoms: Heartburn and round ligament pain - neither are very fun, but it's all worth it!

Symptoms I DON'T have: Thankfully my nausea is completely gone.

Food cravings: I've been wanting baked or mashed potatoes and soup (especially french onion!).

Food aversions: I still can't eat or sometimes even be around pizza, which makes eating out interesting at times. :)

Nesting: I've started to organize all of Addie's baby stuff for the new baby. Thankfully she's really excited about everything so far.

Gender: 4 more days until we find out!!!

Labor Signs: A few Braxton-Hicks contractions here and there, but that's to be expected.

What I miss: Sleep

What I am looking forward to: Seeing baby on Monday!

Our 2 Year-Old

I've been wanting to do an Addie post for awhile now...so here goes!
Here she is after a haircut a few weeks ago

Adelyn is the busiest little girl I know.  She doesn't stop running (usually literally) from the moment she wakes up until she goes to bed at night.  She sleeps from 9PM until 9AM every night, which is pretty fantastic.  We're starting to transition her to 8PM-8AM, but right now I'm enjoying being able to sleep in a bit every day!

She loves to sing & dance - she started a 5-week summer dance class on Wednesday, which was adorable to watch.  She kinda wanted to do her own thing & not follow along with the rest of the class, but at 2, I wasn't expecting her to follow along perfectly.

Addie makes us laugh constantly, especially when she's getting into trouble!  Last week I was trying to put her shoes on & she threw one of them.  She hates wearing shoes, but I let her know that throwing them was not okay.  Instead of saying, "Sorry, Mommy," like she usually does, she looked at me and said, "Aye, aye, Captain!"  I tried really hard to keep it together, but I failed miserably & burst out laughing.

Another Addie-ism she's come up with recently is putting her hands on her hips and instead of saying "attitude", she'll say, "Addie-tude!"  A little sassy, but I give her credit for being creative. :)

Weeks 15 & 16

How far along? 16 weeks, 3 days

Total weight gain/loss: Still down 5 pounds

Sleep: I sleep really well as long as I have my body pillow! We went camping last weekend and that was very interesting. Donny & I shared my king size pillow & I used his as my body pillow.

Best moment this week: Getting the results of my quad screen back - baby tested normal!

Movement: I think I may have felt a teeny bit of movement, but nothing regular yet.

Symptoms: Still the heartburn, but otherwise I'm feeling pretty good!

Symptoms I DON'T have: Complete exhaustion & nausea

Food cravings: Orange juice & Chick-fil-A. I don't know why with the second one...we don't have any around here & that makes me sad!

Food aversions: Pizza

Nesting: Nope, not yet

Gender: We find out in just a little over 3 weeks!

Labor Signs: None

Belly Button in or out? In

What I miss: Not really missing anything

What I am looking forward to: My next appointment - our big ultrasound!

Week 14 Survey

How far along? 14 weeks, 3 days

Total weight gain/loss: Down 5 pounds

Sleep: I have really bad insomnia right now. I can't get to bed until really late, so Addie & I take very nice afternoon naps most days!

Best moment this week: We're heading "up north" to a popular vacation area - excited to wear my maternity swimming suit. :)

Movement: Not yet, but hopefully soon!

Symptoms: Heartburn...I think it started way earlier this time! Tums does nothing for me, but thankfully Zantac does.

Symptoms I DON'T have: All day nausea

Food cravings: Orange juice (same as with Addie)...tonight I made cookies at midnight - not something I'd normally do. :)

Food aversions: Scrambled eggs & pizza

Nesting: Not yet

Gender: Can't wait to find out!

Labor Signs: Definitely none

Belly Button in or out? In

What I miss: TMI, but I miss not bursting blood vessels in my face when I need to get sick. I have a very sensitive gag reflex during pregnancy, so anytime I cough or sneeze, I gag! I look like I have little red freckles that start at my eyes & go down to my neck.

What I am looking forward to: Our appointment next week - having a quad screen done to check for the chances of the baby having certain birth defects. I'm nervous & will feel much much  better about everything once we get the news that the baby is healthy!

6/6/12

13 Week Survey

How far along? 13 weeks, 2 days

Total weight gain/loss: Still down 6 pounds

Sleep: I definitely toss and turn trying to get comfortable, but I can nap really well! I just have to convince Addie to nap with me. :)

Best moment this week: Moving into the 2nd trimester already - I think having a 2-year old really helps speed the time along!

Movement: Not yet

Symptoms: Heartburn, breakouts, tighter jeans! :)

Symptoms I DON'T have: I'm finally starting to be able to enjoy food again

Food cravings: Tonight I really wanted a grilled cheese sandwich. I haven't had any regular cravings yet, though.

Food aversions: Scrambled eggs, pizza, desserts (which is sooo unusual for me!)

Nesting: Not yet - just hoping to get word about possibly moving soon!

Gender: Not sure yet!

Labor Signs: Definitely none yet

Belly Button in or out? In

What I miss: Nothing, really

What I am looking forward to:  The next doctor appointment in 2 weeks & finding out the sex next month!

5/31/12

Baby #2 Week 12 Survey

How far along? 12 weeks, 3 days

Total weight gain/loss: Down about 6 pounds

Maternity clothes? Some - the pants are much more comfortable!

Stretch marks? Nope

Best moment this week: Technically it was the end of last week, but we got to hear baby's heartbeat - it was between 160 & 165

Movement: Not yet

Food cravings: No cravings. I either feel really nauseated or really hungry...but then nothing sounds good.

Gender: We'll find out in July!

Labor Signs: None - and hopefully not for a long time!

Belly Button in or out? In

What I miss: Nothing really - I'm just hoping that soon I won't feel nauseated so often.

What I am looking forward to: Starting to actually look pregnant. :)

Weekly Wisdom: As stressful as having a 2-year old is, I'm trying to enjoy this pregnancy...I may be a lot more exhausted and cranky some days, though!

Milestones: Hitting the 12 week mark and hearing a healthy heartbeat last week!

We have some news!

This little princess is very excited...

...because she's going to be a big sister!

Baby #2 is due December 10th, which is my baby sister's 17th birthday.  We couldn't be more excited.  Addie's helping us with baby name ideas, which is fun. "Dora & Boots" and "Peter Pan" have been some of my favorites. :)  I'm going to have to start doing some pregnancy surveys...I can't leave this baby out!

We've been very busy house hunting, and we're hoping to put an offer in within the next week or so!  We decided to move out of our "big" city and into a nearby smaller one, since we want our kids to go to a smaller school district.  Ironically, the house we fell in love with has a blue front door - I may have to change the blog name back to that!
